Just a quick write up about our KWA Scene Conference by our President, H.B. Berlow to be found at his blog: After the Conference.
You can search our Tweets from yesterday on Twitter by searching for #KWAScene2013.
I heard a lot of the attendees say they enjoyed that we had a small, intimate conference where everyone could support one another instead of having to rush around or pick and choose between simultaneous events. Having attended that crazy-maker type of conference (and music festivals) like that far too often, I tend to agree. Yesterday’s experience was a good one.
It brought more writers in the Kansas/Oklahoma area together. That is a great achievement.
Our Scene Conference also made me want to find even more local talent. New York Times Best Selling author Jenna Blum lives right here in Wichita and gave a perfect presentation yesterday. The next Jenna Blum could have been at that conference, be in my critique group, or sitting one day at one of our monthly KWA meetings.
You never know what’s in your own backyard until you go digging around.
